Wellness Network of the
BC Southern Interior

Are you sick of being overweight?

Are you frustrated by endless stress?

Are you fed up with being sick?

Are you tired of having no energy?

Has depression gotten the better of you?

Do you feel anxious or out of control?

Join the BC Southern Interior WELLNESS NETWORK and start self-designing wellness in your life. Do you have a wellness plan? Are you ready to start taking back control of your health and your life? Through our monthly meetings, you can learn everything you need to know about how stress is destroying your life and what to do about it. Each month, we cover, in great detail, 10 wellness topics to help you learn all about emotional stress and oxidative stress.

We are a resource for education and empowerment. Our goal is to give you all the tools and resources you need to solve all your wellness challenges, no matter what they are.

It is our belief that most stress-related problems in life all follow a similar progression as they unfold and eventually eclipse our lives. Whether it's financial stress, family stress, relationship stress, parenting stress, work stress, health stress or some other kind of stress, they all follow a similar pattern, starting relatively small and growing until the cause of stress becomes unmanageable.

When the cause of stress gains enough momentum, eventually, the person will become afflicted with some type of serious chronic degenerative disease brought on by the production of free radicals from the emotional stressors in life.

The BC Southern Interior Wellness Network aims to share all the tools and skills needed to conquer the stressors and thereby move in the direction of conquering disease. You may not have a disease yet, that you know of, but it's a fact that 75% of people have one chronic disease and 50% have two or more chronic diseases and so it will not be long before you or a close family member is affected by the growing stress levels that bombard us daily.

The following topics will be covered in 5-10 minute segments at each wellness network meeting. Each meeting will last about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Topic 1: Weight Workshops

Each wellness network meeting will include a short slideshow and discussion of one topic from Dr. Ray Strand's Healthy for Life program based on his bestselling book called Releasing Fat. Healthy for Life is a lifestyle change program that has the side effect of significant weight loss and fat loss.

Topic 2: Food Facts

Each wellness network meeting will review a different 5-minute factoid about a food topic or category. Some of the topics covered include sugars and sweeteners, good fats/bad fats, good protein/bad protein, good carbs/bad carbs, food additives, organic versus non-organic, storing and transporting food, and many others.

Topic 3: Stress Solutions

Each wellness network meeting will explore a stress management tool or technique such as rational emotive behaviour therapy, systems management, positive affirmations, meditation or contemplative prayer, mind mapping and many others.

Topic 4: Disease Discussions

Each wellness network meeting will take 10 minutes to review a specific chronic degenerative disease. Dr. Ray Strand, MD offers a new perspective on disease management and explains in detail why people must begin to look at disease differently than has traditionally been the case. Each disease analysis is based on the teachings of Dr. Ray Strand, but includes the perspective of Dr. Gabor Mate, MD, the author of the bestselling book called, When the Body Says NO, The Hidden Costs of Stress.

Topic 5: Exercise Engagements

We all know we need to exercise, but often times we find exercise to be very boring and repetitive. This segment, during each meeting, is intended to introduce a new form of exercise or a resource to help make exercise easier. Wellness network members will also be able to find exercise buddies to help keep exercise engaging and interesting.

Topic 6: Nutrition Nuggets

Each wellness network meeting will include a short session on nutrition. We will cover topics such as the ORAC Scale, the Glycemic Index, NutriSearch's Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, Brunswick Labs research on free radicals and antioxidants, phytochemicals, amino acids, and many other important facts on nutritional wellness.

Topic 7: Product Profiles

At each wellness network meeting, we will review various products to assist in achieving and maintaining wellness in your life. Some of the products include stress management devices, books, supplements, healthy chocolate and many others.

Topic 8: Attitude Adjustments

Lots of research shows that oftentimes, we are our own worst enemy, as we try to conquer stress and disease. Even though this is often true, rarely are we able to recognize the problem so that we can address it. For this reason, at each wellness meeting, we will share a different tool or technique to help manage attitudinal barriers and blocks. Techniques and tools include Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Hypnosis, Bach Flower Essences, Law of Attraction, Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now, and many others.

Topic 9: Habit Handbook

It may be science that is keeping us overweight, but there is usually some emotional or habitual reason why we started eating in the first place. Even if you don't have a weight problem, often times our habits are a big part of stress and disease. Each wellness network meeting includes a discussion about how to change habits and offers a concrete program to make habit modification much easier.

Topic 10: Business Basics

Some of the best problem solving that goes on in the world takes place in the business community. At each wellness meeting, we will dedicate a few minutes to introducing an adapted business problem solving technique for you to use to solve personal problems. Each technique is very powerful by itself, but used together, could fully eliminate stress from your life forever.
